Practicing Ethically with AI: A Panel on Consent, Risk, and Responsibility
As AI-powered tools enter the clinical workspace, therapists face new ethical and legal challenges in documentation and client communication. This continuing education course, brings together multidiciplinary panel members to clarify what constitutes informed consent for AI note-taking and practice management systems. Participants will review vignettes illustrating real-world scenarios involving client privacy, data security, and therapist accountability. Discussion will highlight how existing standards, such as HIPAA, HITECH, and professional codes of ethics apply to emerging technologies and what steps clinicians can take to maintain compliance and client trust. Attendees will gain practical guidance for integrating AI tools ethically, writing clear consent language, and aligning technology use with best-practice standards in behavioral health.
Participants Will:
Identify key ethical and legal requirements for informed consent when using AI tools in therapy and practice management.
Describe how HIPAA, professional ethics codes, and AI transparency principles intersect.
Analyze clinical scenarios involving AI use and determine appropriate informed consent responses.

The Art and Science of Self-Care
Endeavors CE presents The Art and Science of Self-Care! This 6 unit virtual CE event blends evidence-based wellness practices with holistic, creative approaches to rejuvenation. We will discuss assessing the symptoms of clinical burnout, the impact of moral injury in the work we do, and practice together ways to calm our minds and bodies by working with our nervous system and integrating our creative passions to bring balance into practice.Through expert-led sessions, interactive experiences, and mindful exploration, attendees will discover practical strategies to nurture both mind and body.
